Women Caring for Women International Grant 2016 – Up to $5,000 Scholarship

The Mary A. Tidlund Charitable Foundation is accepting applications for the 2016 Women Caring for Women International Grant. This $5,000 grant is awarded to a young woman from developing nation, who wishes to attend post-secondary studies, and who requires financial support in the pursuit of her educational goals. The foundation has been offering this grant since 2007.

Grant

The Foundation will award of $5,000 grant to a female. At least sixty percent of the funds from this award must be applied to tuition, books, school supplies and school fees. The educational institution must provide an invoice for these expenses to the foundation to facilitate payment directly to the institution.

The grant may be used to cover expenses for more than one year of studies.

Eligibility

• Although the candidate need not be undertaking studies in her home country, this grant will be awarded to a female student who is a citizen of and currently living in a developing nation.
• The candidate should indicate that she wishes to attend post-secondary studies and requires financial support in the pursuit of her educational goals.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate how she has made a positive contribution toward her community.

How to Apply

In 500 – 1,000 words, please describe your program of study, explain why this program of study is important to you, and how your studies, activities and community involvement contribute to attaining your fullest potential. Include a history or resume of your involvement in these areas and other relevant activities.

On a separate sheet, list all expenses related to your education that you expect to incur during the school year. These expenses may include, but are not limited to, such things as travel expenses, residence fees or rent, tuition, text books, computer equipment, etc. (Provide as much detail for these expenses as possible – e.g. travel – air, train or bus fare, transit passes, car expenses, etc.) This information will be used to assist the committee in determining your need for this award.
